KVM Automation is California’s experienced industrial automated control systems contractor. Our team of computer engineers and industrial electricians can provide your company with a fully custom control system and automation solution. We provide turnkey solutions for all industries. KVM Automation has been involved in control systems and electrical solutions projects within North America.
The control system is at the cornerstone of all automation systems and therefore it is crucial that the control system is both highly functional and capable of providing an intuitive user interface.
KVM Automation uses well know brands such as Allen Bradly and Siemens to increase your manufacturing reliability. We are also partnered with other certified companies in the industry to deliver better services. This is a partnership based on sophisticated and globally standardized criteria.
What Are Automated Control Systems?
Automated control systems are used to monitor and control industrial processes. They can be used to monitor and control a single process or many processes – it all depends on the size of your company, what you’re trying to accomplish, and whether or not the equipment being monitored needs human operators.
Automated control systems are also used when it isn’t possible or feasible for employees to be physically present at locations where they need supervision, monitoring or operation.
This is especially common with larger companies that have multiple factories across the globe, where it’s impractical for managers or supervisors always need to be in place at each location in order for things like maintenance work on equipment or facilities management functions such as pest control services (which involve handling chemicals) can be effectively completed without risking personal safety issues due solely because people aren’t there watching over things themselves
Types of Control Systems
Control systems are used in a wide variety of industries, and the solutions they employ can be divided into four main categories:
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
- Distributed Control Systems (DCSs)
Things to Consider Before Installing a Control System
Inputs to an automated control system can be from various sources such as sensors, software and other inputs. For example, a temperature control system uses sensors to read the temperature in a room and then sends this information to software which processes this data and sends signals to the heating unit or air conditioner according to its decision making capabilities.
Outputs from automated control systems include motors, valves etc., which are used for a number of tasks. These devices are used in healthcare industry (for example: MRI machines), manufacturing firms (for example: CNC machines) etc., but the applications aren’t limited only these two industries; with advancement in technology, we see more and more innovations coming up every day.
Design
At KVM Automation, we define and design a control system for almost all automation requirements. KVM Automation delivers panel layouts, full schematics, parts lists, EN13849 safety reports, cable schedules, and controls risk assessments.
Build
All panel build is done by our electricians, fully qualified based on UL and NEC standards, who are experts in entire appearance of each panel. All control panels are carefully tested prior to dispatch and are entirely compliant with all of the relevant international directives such as UL508A.
Installation and Commissioning
KVM Automation control systems electricians will work on your site to wire up your system and connect it to the control panel. Afterward, they will power up and examine all of the power supplies. They will also test all of the inputs and outputs. At this point, our software engineers will install and commission the control software. Finally, they will do any necessary training.
